PAL vs NTSC gameplay differences?

 Hi guys,


sorry if this is a basic question that's been answered elsewhere, but does the fact the PAL version of the game runs slower make any significant gameplay differences? Im thinking maybe it's harder to leave the track in certain places because you're actually going slower? Is that how the mechanics work? Do you gain less height on hitting on a jump-plate because of it?

PAL is mostly just NTSC just slowed down to 50 fps instead of 60 fps, so if you play back an input file on NTSC frame by frame on PAL then it would be almost exactly the same.

The reason why I only say almost exactly the same is because PAL is actually a little faster when converting to NTSC because if you go above 2000 kph in both games boost will have no effect, but in NTSC you reach 2000 kph a lot easier than in PAL because the speeds are adjusted. Speedloss might be also affected by that.

Back to your question: Every trick that can be done in NTSC can be done in PAL and since it runs slower it's also easier to perform them.

 if you were wondering, the ladders should not be combined but it's a carryover from the MFO days since the people in charge of the ladders didn't add many requested ladders due to difficulties.

ideally, PAL and NTSC would have their own ladder in this game and the SNES one.
