So I love F-Zero, which is how I ended up at this site, and am fairly good at F-Zero X and GX. I'm not a record setter by any means, but am able to beat the cups on Master and enjoy playing.
But man, in these handheld versions I suck terribly, and it seems there is an even greater quality chasm between the cars. Good-handling machines make the game incredibly easy, while anything below C-grip makes the harder courses impossible on higher difficulties.
My basic strategy for getting around those crazy hairpin turns is to take it wide, start turning a bit early into it, and then mash the crap out of my acceleration button and relative shoulder button. Holding down the shoulder buttons doesn't seem to do much, and even with all that mashing of blast turning and side attacks together, it doesn't always get me through the turn. Machines like Astro Robin and White Cat usually only require a bit of blast turning even in mid-boost around such turns, but those aren't the machines I like. Is there a better way?
