F-Zero X II - Generations
F-Zero X II - Generations is a collection of tracks meant to serve as a new experience for newcomers and veterans alike of the F-Zero community. It consists of 24 entirely new, and bigger tracks that offers you to race every single one on any difficulty setting without leaving you stranded alone while the CPU dies during the first corner, or jump.
Building courses or even entire track packs that falls under these criterias aren't anything new; Relm succeeded gracefully to this norm years ago during her first installment titled 1st Lap and even continued to do so in her second pack as well. I very much admire that skill, to be able to create something that appeals to a greater audience whilst maintaining the basic mechanics. So I made sure I could add something new to the formula. Sheer track size has definitely been experimented with a few dusin times already, and I wasn't gonna steep to the extremes of the Hyperspeed Circuits or anything now that we're racing at normal speed, but I wanted to try and make use of most the space the EK utilizes and thereby make good use of the dash plates. I mean I can testify, and I bet most people can too- that the first couple of tracks you made after getting your hands on an EK or the FZX_EP was built for size.
Mainly the inspiration came from my previous two tracksets that of which I wasn't very happy with now looking back. Key word being consistency, or lack there of. Therefore I made sure the rise in difficulty in NGT feels somewhat natural and not too steep.
Difficulty speaking I'm trying to maintain the CPU friendly aspect of it all so when I'm talking difficulty I might refer to sharper turns, tiny roads, less walls, trap fields etc. I'm not necessarily relying on the player to know the advanced moveset seeing as the CPU don't.
When it comes to the actual tracks themselves and my progress thus far it feels as if I've contributed a lifetime's worth of work on these, making sure I'm 100% happy with every nook and cranny. I don't wanna look back two or three months after its initial release and think "ah damn I could've made that so much better".

Hopefully this has given a more detailed look into this project. Still no release date though we're homing in on one.
