while it lacks the  crazyness of DTDs, these should be interesting to watch also.

The JDT (where I skip one dash plate) is only slightly faster whilst the last part saves about 0"10 if done well. The best setup in the end will still make you hit the wall before the finish line. It's still the fastest way. Extending the drift into the finish line normally without JDT (like you can do on Q3) will always be slower no matter what.

Edit:

SUGARBEAMZ

After I watched my 17"08 again I noticed my drifts through the motion plates could be improved. The problem was that whenever I went pixel-tight into a turn and then saved at that respective spot, I started my next drift from right there or later (I usually use corners as checkpoints). What you can actually do is go back a little (after saving), knowing your drift will be pixel-tight, and give yourself a little more leeway for the upcoming drift. With that I was able to give those drifts a more a natural look while at the same time they were also a little faster. I was able to push my time down to 17"01 by reworking almost my entire run. I tried really hard to find holes in it but I realised I've already plugged them all. I was stuck at 17"01 for about 2 hours until I somehow managed 17"00 by altering the last JDT a little. I applied an extreme angle (visibly more than 90°) and then adjusted JV for the final drift. I really thought this can't possibly go lower. Out of sheer curiosity I took a closer look at the very ending. I tried to go for different button combinations right before and after the wallhit. What eventually did the trick was a blast turn a few frames (1 - 5 made it work) before the impact. This made JV bounce off less than normal and thus it reached the finish line 1 frame earlier too. That was just what I needed!

I thought the same thing that happened to JKT would happen to me. 15"00 / 17"00 and nowhere to go... but I was somehow able to squeeze out another 0"01!

I decided to give Q1 flap another go. I knew my 15"06 wasn't perefct but when I made it I also knew sub 15"00 would be ridiculous to go for. What troubled me though was how my regular time of 15”08 was so close to the TAS. I must’ve overlooked something and that was also the case. The first timesaver was not pressing R at all while going into the JDT. I was aware that I didn’t do that on GBA and also told BPA about it but I’ve done it in my old TAS run for some reason. The second timesaver was the jump. There are different ways to take it. Naturally for the TAS I tried to have my JDT go tightly along the wall, then hitting only the nib of the jump plate to take off. However, to take the jump even tighter you have to give JV a little more distance from the wall during the JDT. That way you can turn in earlier and give the jump a steeper angle. For the next part I made sure to land inside the guardrail. I arranged the upcoming drifts in a way you’re avoiding as much mud as possible. The rest of the flap had nothing new.

Small tip: Never force your last drift to be one that hits the wall right at the finish line. It's always faster to stick to the inside of the course with your drifts.

Similar to B3 this was a tough nut to crack. I maxed out at 15”01 on my first attempt. I altered my jump after that and was able to gain 0”03. I couldn’t improve this any further now. Lowering this one another 0”01 now would be like searching for a needle in a haystack.

unreal!!!

would be cool to see if other "impossible" shortcuts are possible too, such as PF and Q2.

yeah unfortunately Stingray lacks in the boost speed department... like on QF you save merely a second compared to JV and that was just comparing one section (jump plate up to mud patches after shortcut). It'll never be faster.

Regarding PF...

Tim sagt:
well how would you go about pf
seems impossible
Ben sagt:
two player mode
get someone else to drive into you in mid-air
get a second boost

^well fuck that shit.

Q2 would be intersting to cut through the middle of the track. But that's a longer distance than QF so highly unlikely to work.

The ice part will be very difficult to replicate on GBA.

Who knew such a time was possible even for a tool assisted run? Minimizing errors on really fast tracks will save a lot of time!

some more WW madness:

http://wrvids.com/F-Zero_series/F-Zero%20MV/TAS/kf_tbk_1692_tas_lossless.avi (65 mb)

This is 0"48 faster than the current JV WR so this'll definitely be the 6th WW flap in the future. I'm fairly certain that's it though.
